Here's TJ walking off the trailer with a very calm and well cared for pony at the end of a 1500 mile trip from Kansas to Massachusetts. My horse arrived in great shape after such a long trip. Thanks TJ and Johnny!

We own a grandson of Seattle Slew. His name is Rhett. My daughter is an eventer and competes on him. he is both an excellent athlete and a member of our family. When we interviewed movers for our relocation to Virginia from Tucson, we were thorough. The requirements were many, among them that the mover know and love horses, that the layover locations were well know to him, that horse was physically safe and unstressed, and that the equipment was up to date.
We got this, and so much more. TJ Hooper rearranged his schedule to accommodate us; found a spot for unexpected tack and equipment; and managed communications with a group of very road weary women who had a disastrous move. Rhett? His move was flawless, relaxing, and safe.
Here is how we know. Rhett came off the trailer mellow, happy, and curious. He was loathe to leave his friends on the trailer with whom he had bonded, but he was happy to see us. His weight was excellent.
Part way across country, TJ observed that Rhett was not drinking an optimal amount of water. He immediately contacted us and told us his plan: Rhet would be fed a concoction which would assist with water intake and if he did not increase his water consumption by the next day, TJ would stop and bring in a veterinarian. The next day, Rhett's water consumption had improved, and the trip continued undisrupted.
TJ brought the van through some terrible ice storms and weather without incident, and landed at the stable on time. He contacted us every day, and we were NOT talking to a dispatcher; we were NOT exchanging information about our horse from a third party. The person driving was the person caring for our horse and was the person we were talking to.
TJ has both full size 18 wheelers and vehicles for smaller loads. To us this showed a commitment to his business. This is not a "man and his truck" operation. This is a professional, well run company. We learned that he moves high end horses for commercial outfits as well as privately owned horses like ours. But he runs his business like a small one; his approach is high touch, high contact, and his knowledge and understanding of each animal is clear.
I would recommend TJ Hooper and ABC Horse Transport without reservation. Feel free to contact me with any questions about our experience. 520-360-0548. TJ, thank you, on so many levels!!

Hi T.J. and Johnny!

How are you guys? I hope things are going good and you had a great Christmas and New Years!
Do you remember Patriot, the skinny Arabian gelding you hauled from Dillsburg, PA to Elgin, IL in August of last year? The one who screamed for his buddies when you left?
Well, he looks a lot different now, and I have just started riding him. I thought you might like to see his progress so have attached a couple pics!
Also wanted to thank you again, for the fantastic job you did hauling him - I couldn't have asked for better and neither could Pat :)

Hi T.J. and Johnny!
Thanks for the nice message. Sporty is doing great. He is actually pretty mellow and settled in just fine. Thanks again for the haul. You guys were great. Please let me know if you ever need a reference. I am sure you have a lot already but I would be happy to tell someone about your services.
My friends horse failed the pre purchase in Colorado, but they actually found another one to look at that happens to be in Colorado as well. If they can get something put together before the first of the year, they will call you.
Thanks Again,
Andrea

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
We have recently had such an positive experience with a horse transport company that we ASKED to write a letter of recommendation, just to testify as to how superior we felt them to be.
Over the last several years, we have used many different horse transporters. Some were pretty good; some were not quite as good; some were not as 'horse knowledgeable' as we had hoped and some didn't seem to care as much as we had hoped they might.
Then T.J. Hooper & Johnny Redmon of ABC Horse Transportation came along. What a pleasant surprise when we happened onto them! We feel they are outstandingly the best transporters of our special equine friends that we have ever used. We feel this way for the following (only a partial listing) reasons and from our recent personal experience with them:
1. Both T.J. & Johnny are very horse 'savvy' and have been around horses all their lives.
2. They know how to recognize and act on any potential health situation that might occur during their care of the equine they are hauling.
3. They haul the water and hay right in with the horses, during the trip (not just during the 'stops') & they closely monitor the water intake.
4. They stop often to allow the kidneys to function - which, of course, if VITAL & they monitor this closely, as well.
5. Very important to us, they keep close contact with both the shipper and receiver of the equine until after the trip is completed.
6. Their equipment is very clean, modern, well maintained and large enough to accommodate the largest horses or mules.
We found them to be exceptionally honest and caring due to some extraordinary circumstances surrounding a much older horse they were hauling when the arrived @ our barn.
Because of this older horse and the necessity for them to 'double back' to pick up a couple of horses that didn't have the correct paperwork; T.J. & Johnny off loaded and left 2 of their horses with us; allowing the older horse to rest and save the additional travel miles he would have otherwise have had to make. This is a consideration we found very agreeable with our personal philosophy & an indication that they 'went beyond' what others might have considered doing for the horses in their care.
In closing, we found them to be fine people in general and very fine with horses in their care, in particular. Billy & I are basically retired, after Billy's 45 years as a professional trainer but if we have a need, they will certainly be our first choice for hauling in the future. They drive and deliver coast to coast.
Feel free to contact us for any clarification of any statements I've included in this letter.

| TJ and Johnny,
We have our own 4
horse, head to head trailer but when we
needed to move 6 mares and 4 foals for
an inspection, you were the first ones
that we thought of. Not having to
make two trips took so much pressure off
of us (and the horses could together
travel with their own family). You went above
and beyond when taking care of our
horses ... even helping us when we
needed extra hands at the inspection.
Thank you so much!
You're both amazing and we're very
grateful. You'll be hearing from
us again (and again ... and again).
Feel free to have anyone contact us
for references ... many thanks and safe
travels!

| TJ and Johnny,
I wanted to take a moment
to thank you for transporting Harmony cross
country from North Carolina to Vancouver, WA. I
was VERY nervous about transporting a mare that
was almost 10 months pregnant. As an expensive
and big mare it was a bit risky at best. On top
of that you had been referred to me, but I had
never utilized your services. Each time I spoke
with you prior to transport your knowledge and
caring came thru loud and clear. You gave me
your word you would pamper this mare and get her
to me safely.
You took it upon yourself to move
her from a single load spot to a box stall when
she looked uncomfortable. You made extra stops,
and longer stops because of her specifically.
As we all are small business Entrepreneurs, I
know time is money, and taking extra time is a
big move on your part. You were patient when I
would call, to see where she was and how she was
doing. Above the patience you were informative
and reassuring. The best testament that I can
give to both of you is how my heart melted when
she walked off the big rig. She did not look
stressed, "drawn up", or uncomfortable in the
least. You would never know she had spent 9
days on the road. She is a special purchase for
me and I thank you. The mare has now traveled
across the ocean from Germany, and now across
country. She is better traveled than I am!
Thank you again for the extra time and effort
that to you just comes as part of your word.
Someone who honors their word is becoming more
rare these days. If you ever need a reference
fell free to use my name. I will recommend you
to my fellow horse breeders and buyers.

We had a horse shipped from Texas -
they picked her up on Friday morning
and dropped her here (Idaho) this
morning. She was in wonderful shape.
She was clean, calm and her legs
were cool and tight. She came
quietly out of the trailer and stood
in our yard with all our horses
nickering and snorting and she just
calmly dropped her head and started
grazing on the grass. These guys did
a terrific job and would HIGHLY
recommend them to anyone. The
van was large and comfortable and
they have a large 8 by 12 stall in
the front to overnight the horses
while on the road. ABC Horse

Hooper and Johnny Redman. Really
great guys!! Taryn
